Fáilte... Hello... Are ye daein weel... Witam...

Beaghmore

A big hello to the Language Diversity Project website, where you'll find loads of interesting stuff about the indigenous languages of Northern Ireland.

You might think you're "just" an English speaker, but you could be very surprised.

You already know "a wee toaty bit" of Ulster Scots. You've got a "cúpla focal" of Irish for sure.

And the great thing is, you probably don't even know you have it. Without even making the slightest effort, you've already got three languages.

Even better, there might be a few words of French, German, Latin and more thrown in for the craic.

As specialists in the languages of Northern Ireland, we want to try and dispel the myths surrounding Irish and Ulster Scots. Our consultancy service will help you make your audience more appreciative of linguistic diversity.

For too long, language has been a force for division in Northern Ireland. Our aim is to change that by making language accessible to all.

Spread the word . . . Ulster Scots and Irish belong to everyone.

Welcome to the world of linguistic diversity!
